Live example

Sinaloa

QR Digital Menu replaces the printed menu of a café, bar or restaurant. Customers scan a QR code on the table and the menu opens on their phone: categories with photos, every product with its price, and the store’s logo, phone and social links. The live version shows the menu of Sinaloa, with ten categories from coffees to cocktails and food.

Behind the menu there is an admin panel, so the store can keep it up to date on its own: add or edit products, change prices, mark something as unavailable or reorder the menu, and every change appears on customers’ phones immediately, without reprinting anything.

What I did

Design and full development of the application: the mobile-first public menu, the admin panel, the PHP API and MySQL database, secure login, image uploads and multi-language support.

Key features

  • Mobile-first menu: categories with photos and product counts, product lists with descriptions, and support for two prices per product with labels (e.g. single/double, glass/bottle).
  • Admin panel: add, edit and delete products and categories, filter by category, and toggle a product as available or unavailable with one tap.
  • Drag & drop ordering: products and categories can be reordered by dragging them, and the menu follows the same order.
  • Multi-language: up to five languages, with a language switcher on the menu and translation tabs in the admin forms.
  • Images: photos for categories and products, uploaded straight from the admin panel.
  • Branding: store name or logo, phone number and Instagram, Facebook and TikTok links.

Fast for customers, secure for the store

Every time the menu is changed in the admin panel, the server regenerates a static JSON file of the whole menu. Customers’ phones load only that file, so the menu opens instantly and the database is not touched by visitors at all. The admin side is protected with hashed passwords, a lock after repeated failed logins, CSRF tokens and secure session cookies, and every uploaded image is checked for its real file type, size and dimensions before it is saved.
